The PLANEX series of products are high-performance and industry-proven single-frequency external cavity lasers (ECLs) based on RIO's patented PLANEX planar technology. The PLANEX laser consists of a gain chip and a planar lightwave circuit (PLC) incorporating a Bragg grating.
The coupling of these components forms a resonator with significant advantages: output power up to 20 mW, very low relative noise intensity and narrow linewidth, and very low wavelength sensitivity to bias current and temperature. Ideal for remote sensing, high-resolution spectroscopy and LIDAR.
ORION 1550/1064 nm laser modules
The ORION enclosure has been designed with the customer in mind: highly integrated, small form factor and self-contained module. This optical solution is designed to reduce development time and easy integration into advanced fiber optic sensor systems. External monitoring and control can be performed via standard SPI, RS-232 or RS-485 interfaces.
The GRANDE high power laser module is based on the technical performance of the ORION. In addition to the reliability and robustness of the ORION and the integration of a low-noise EDFA, GRANDE laser modules provide superior performance with up to 2 W output power, very low relative noise intensity, ultra-low phase noise and narrow linewidth, exceptional wavelength stability and insensitivity to vibration.

OPLL phase frequency autotuning system
The PLANEX laser-based system provides exceptional efficiency and ease of use with output power up to 5 mW, very low relative phase efficiency, ultra-low phase noise and narrow linewidth, excellent wavelength stability, fast tuning and user-selectable frequency offset function.
The complete integrated OPLL solution is ideal for a variety of applications where absolute accuracy, lifetime reliability in harsh field conditions and high resolution are important, such as remote sensing, distributed temperature monitoring, strain or acoustic fiber optics, LIDAR and other precision metrology applications.
