Single photon counter based on Si avalanche photodiode
The ID101 consists of a silicon CMOS chip in a standard TO5-8pin collector with a transparent cover-window. The chip combines a 20/50 µm diameter single-photon avalanche diode and an active quenching circuit that guarantees a dead time of less than 50 ns. The photon detection probability is measured in the blue spectral range (35% at 500 nm).
ID Quantique's ID100 series are compact and affordable single photon counting modules with best-in-class time resolution of 40 ps (for TCSPC applications) and dead time of 45 ns. Based on a robust silicon avalanche photodiode with sensitivity in the visible spectral range.
The ID120 series is available as free-space modules, with passive quenching, with a maximum efficiency value around 800 nm. They have a quantum efficiency of up to 80%, a large active area and adjustable tunability.
Single photon counter based on InGaAs/InP avalanche photodiodes
ID Qube provides accurate and reliable single-photon detection with high quantum efficiency up to 35%, low time jitter and low noise. It is an efficient solution for applications such as quantum communication and quantum key distribution.
The detector is equipped with a gate designed to prevent saturation or unwanted detection, it can also operate in free-running mode. The cooled InGaAs/InP avalanche photodiode and associated electronics have been designed to achieve particularly low dark rates even in gating mode up to 100 MHz.
The unique single-photon detector based on the InGaAs/InP avalanche photodiode, operating in Geiger mode, ensures fast avalanche quenching. This limits residual ripple and allows operations with low dead time. A new cooling system, capable of reaching temperatures as low as - 90 °C, provides the infrared detector with a low dark count rate.
Single photon detectors on superconducting nanowires
The detection system consists of a superconducting nanowire detector, high-performance electronic components and a robust cryogenic system. This system outperforms all single photon detectors available on the market.
Quantum efficiency over 85%, count rates up to 40 MHz, dark count rates over 100 Hz, jitter less than 50 ps and no residual ripple. Up to 16 detectors can be combined in one system. The detection range is from 780 to 1625 nm (with QE ≥ 85%) and from 780 to more than 2000 nm (with QE ≥ 70%).
A standard or multi-pixel detector with different specifications can be selected to achieve the best performance for the required application. Single photon detectors on superconducting nanowires (SNSPD) are the best combination of high performance and electronics for registration.
Time correlated controller
Monitor detection performance for up to five single-photon detectors, plotting up to four histograms of matches between any pair of connected detectors with picosecond accuracy.
In addition to measurements, the ID1000 is also a delay/pulse generator. With four output channels of tunable and conditional pulses, you can monitor and adjust the experiment and single-photon detectors in real time, such as supplying a gating signal to four detectors.
The ID1000 series of timing controllers includes sophisticated internal processing for real-time conditional filtering for coincidence measurement. This allows three- or four-fold matches to be directly recorded without the need for any data processing.
Picosecond laser
The ID 3000 series lasers are a cost-effective solution that provides high quality picosecond pulsed laser light with long-term maintenance-free operation.
These lasers are based on highly reliable semiconductor laser diodes operating in pulsed mode with pulse duration in the order of 30 ps. They provide a wide operating range from UV to telecom C-band (375 - 1550 nm).
The ID 3000 can be used with IDQ single-photon detectors and ID900 series time controllers for a wide range of high-speed, high-sensitivity applications, from super-resolution microscopy, time-resolved spectroscopy to field testing of optical fibers.
QKD - quantum key distribution
IDQ has developed quantum key distribution (QKD) systems that generate and distribute cryptographic keys over a secure network to securely encrypt or authenticate data.
Unlike conventional key distribution algorithms, QKD is the only known cryptographic technique that provides proven secrecy of encryption keys as well as long-term data confidentiality and integrity.
The XGR series quantum key distribution platform was developed by ID Quantique as a versatile research tool for academic and technology laboratories. Therefore, the user can experiment with different parameter settings and configurations in both automatic and manual modes.
